What we collect, and what we do not keep

Owner note, to remove before launch: this page describes the system as currently built. It has not been reviewed by an Australian privacy practitioner, and that review is required before taking live payments. See docs/architecture.md.

The short version

Your birth date, birth time and birthplace are personal information, and we treat them that way. Today the site does not store them at all: your details are sent to our server, used to calculate a chart, returned to your browser, and then discarded. Nothing is written to a database, because there is no database yet.

What is processed

  • Birth date, time and place. Sent to our server with each calculation, held in memory only for as long as the calculation takes, and never written to disk or logged.
  • Your chart and reading. Generated on request and returned to your browser. Your browser keeps a copy in sessionStorage so the page survives a refresh; that copy lives only in your browser and is deleted when you close the tab.
  • Your chart-format preference. Stored in localStorage in your browser, nowhere else.
  • Basic request data. Our hosting provider records IP addresses and request times for security and abuse prevention, as any web host does.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We deliberately do not send your birth details or your chart to Stripe — a payment record with us contains no astrological data at all.

What we never do

  • We do not sell or share your birth details with anyone.
  • We do not send your birth details to any AI service. Readings are generated entirely by our own code running on our own server.
  • We do not run advertising or third-party tracking scripts.

Deleting your data

Because nothing is stored on our servers today, there is nothing on our side to delete. To remove the local copy in your browser, close the tab or clear your site data. If that changes — and it will, when accounts are added so you can retrieve a paid reading later — this page will be updated first, and the change will be described plainly here rather than buried.

Planned changes you should know about

To let customers retrieve a paid reading after closing the browser, we will need to store an order record and the reading itself. When that is built it will come with a stated retention period, a self-service delete option, and an updated version of this page.
